Lead technical support of the company's technology infrastructure and provide outstanding support service to a rapidly growing, geographically distributed team of software technology professionals.

Key Accomplishments:

·        Rebuilt team from ground-up, hiring and equipping personnel for the challenges of a rapidly growing infrastructure and increased demands from multiple business units.

·        Led enterprise-wide virtualization effort, overseeing and personally completing vendor/hardware qualifications, architecture/design, installation, configuration migration and documentation.  The consolidation effort reduced the company’s server hardware footprint by 60% leading to savings in power and cooling.  Leveraged highly available VMware Virtual Infrastructure (VI3) environment to improve server availability, reduce workload for IT staff, and automate server deployment for various business units.  The completed virtual environment supports both production and development environments containing hundreds of servers running SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and Approva’s BizRights software

Senior Network Engineer (2004-2005)

Provided day-to-day support, training, and technology implementation as well as long-term project management for small to medium sized corporate networks.  Conceptualized and implemented systems upgrades.  Worked with clients to analyze current network needs and identify areas in need of improvement.  Researched and deployed innovative usage of technology to improve client productivity and efficiency.  Managed team of help desk technicians and network engineers to meet needs of customers.  Drafted technical documentation on projects, specifications, solutions and problems.

Key Accomplishments:

·        Project manager and technical lead for facility relocation and concurrent network upgrade for 130 user environment.  Oversaw all details of new facility construction, including server room design and phone/data cabling installation.  Responsible for procurement of $200,000+ of hardware and software.  Developed technical requirements and subsequently designed Windows Server 2003 with Exchange 2003 and SQL 2003 to upgrade existing Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000 environment.  Implemented medical imaging technologies and remote access capabilities based on Windows 2003 Terminal Services.  Managed team of engineers during implementation and roll-out of new servers, routing, firewall, and switching equipment. Supervised all group policy and complete hands-off Ghostcasted machine deployment.

·        Planned, designed, and migrated a two-location 300-user NT and Exchange 5.5 environment without firewall and bridged network to a complete state-of-the-art solution.  The new network utilized bonded T1 for Internet access, a routed backbone, Windows 2003 with Exchange 2003, Norton Anti-virus, Sybari Anti-spam, and SUS.  Primarily responsible for Active Directory design, group policy configuration and deployment, workstation configuration, application customization and deployment.

·        Technical lead for software development project.  Participated in pre-sales activities.  Designed and deployed multiple networks using Microsoft Windows Small Business Server with custom application to businesses throughout the United States and Canada.  Provided technical support for networks and software for these clients.

Network Engineer (2002-2004)

Provided on-site and remote support for corporate clients including executive, IT, and end-users.  Increasing levels of responsibility from tier 1 user support through progressively more complex network and server issues.
